The people and the service at Stark's Auto are exemplary. I would truly recommend this auto service for anyone who needs work done on their engines; they even perform complex jobs such as engine replacements. My engine in my Audi A4 ceased and the only way I would be able to get my "baby" Audi back on the road was to replace the engine. Christopher, the mechanic who performed this job on my car, was an artist and he did a hell of a job by installing the new long block. I drove more than 2,000 mile since and the vehicle runs flawless. Also, I recommend NOT TAKING A LEAP OF FAITH AND ORDERING ENGINES OR PARTS FROM RANDOM WEBSITES. Go through Don's Auto from Binghampton, which Jimmy does business with. They are trustworthy and supply quality parts.
This car shop fixed my subaru within the day, even after having to order parts. My boyfriend and I decided to get his inspection done there also and they gave him a free oil change and tire rotation just becasue we were new customers. The staff went out of their ways to be friendly and explained what they were doing and why. 10/10 would reccomend to my family and friends!
Jim Stark is simply the most honest and skilled mechanic I've ever had the pleasure to work with. He is not reluctant to advise against costly unnecessary work. He always takes time to explain, have a kind word, and yes, TEASE the heck out of me, making every visit to Starks a lot more fun than the hassle that car repair trips often are. Jim Stark is the real deal. He is a GM trained mechanic that has the knowledge and the skills to fix anything on the road, from my old F150 truck to Jaguars, Mercedes Benz, Audi's, etc. If the vehicle has a gas or diesel burning engine in it..................he can fix it. His rates are extremely reasonable. He's also honest as the day is long and easy to work with. It's not uncommon to see folks come by the shop to just say hi and ask how things are going. His wife Katrina runs the business side of the shop. She's witty, fun and also easy to work with. I absolutely recommend Stark's Auto.
Overall, Jimmy, Christopher, Eric, and Katrina are nice people who take pride in their work and will do their best to get you back on the road.
